HL Kitshoff and Sons from Egbertsvlei, Moorreesburg, paid the highest price of R54 000 at the 23rd Konsortium-Merino sale on the farm Dombietersfontein, Victoria West. This is the highest price ever paid for a Konsortium-Merino ram. The same buyers also bought a ram for R30 000. At the back from the left is Hermanus Kitshoff, his son, Jannie and Gawie van Heerden, Konsortium-Merino breeder. Luka Tulpies is the handler. 285 rams were sold for an average of R6 272 resulting in another record turnover of R1 787 600. This is the eighth time that Konsortium has bettered the turnover for a Merino ram sale in South Africa. The 904 ewes were sold at an average of R1 356 each with the highest price of R1 800 per ewe being paid for a group of pregnant stud ewes. KVB from Victoria West were the agents and Jakkie Nel was the auctioneer.
