Konsortium-Merino started off in 2001, with 78 rams on one sale.Today they annually sell the most rams on official Merino auctions in South Africa - as much as 311 rams per sale and 670 rams per year.
They have already bettered the record turnover, for a Merino ram sale, six times in a row.
The largest Merino progeny test in South Africa was undertaken - more than 3 100 Merino ewes mated to 15 Konsortium rams.
Konsortium-Merino is the first Merino stud in South Africa to appoint its own client advisors, in doing so, to add value to their clients’ businesses
Konsortium-Merino uses Mother Nature as chief classer and breeds a sheep which is adapted accordingly.

Under normal veld conditions, slaughter-lambs are weaned at 30 - 40 kg. In good years they can weigh up to 50kg.
The average fibre diameter of the five Konsortium breeders' woolclips range between 18.5 and 19.5 micron.
Hoggets shear 16.1 – 17.2 micron wool.
